FAA-approved autopilot for the Grumman AA-5 family
The Trio Pro Pilot is a two-axis autopilot system for the four-seat Grumman family. The FAA Approved Model List for STC SA04230CH includes the AA-5, AA-5A, AA-5B and AG-5B. The system provides roll and pitch control, including GPS course tracking and altitude-hold functions, subject to the approved installation and Airplane Flight Manual Supplement for your aircraft. The system supports coupled GPS approaches, including LPV approaches with vertical guidance, when paired with a compatible WAAS navigator; it does not provide coupled ILS approach capability.

Configure the kit for your panel
- Mounting: select a standard instrument-hole or radio-stack installation.
- Aircraft voltage: select 14V or 28V.
- Navigator or EFIS interface: compatibility depends on the exact equipment part number, software version and approved interface. The current Trio avionics compatibility list includes specified Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen and Dynon equipment. Ask Trio to verify your stack before ordering.
- Installation: installation must follow the approved data and be returned to service by appropriately authorized personnel. Typical installation: 40-45 hours (installer estimate; actual time varies by aircraft and panel configuration).

Warranty
Installation kits are warranted by The STC Group LLC to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for the earlier of 3 years or 400 flight hours from the date of purchase (6 months / 200 flight hours for factory-repaired or overhauled exchange units). The STC Group’s sole remedy is repair, replacement, or refund at its discretion. The autopilot control head, servos, and electrical harnesses are manufactured and warranted exclusively by Trio Avionics Corporation, not The STC Group. See the full STC Group warranty terms.
