FAA-Certified Autopilot for the Entire AA-5 Family
The Trio Pro Pilot is approved for every four-seat Grumman airframe — from the original AA-5 Traveler to the last AG-5B Tiger. One STC. One installation kit. Jeff flies a Tiger IFR with this exact system installed.
The AA-5 family's canopy-forward design and slippery airframe make it a natural IFR platform. The Trio Pro Pilot adds coupled GPS approach capability — including LPV approaches with vertical guidance — without requiring panel surgery or a mandatory EFIS purchase if you're not ready for one.
When you call Jeff about your Grumman, you're talking to someone who has flown this autopilot on IFR approaches in a Tiger. That's not a sales pitch. That's a reference check.
Works With the Panel You Already Have — or the One You're Building
The Trio Pro Pilot adapts to your existing avionics stack. Whether you're flying steam gauges, have an Aspen EFD, a Garmin G5, or dual Dynon SkyView displays, the Trio integrates without requiring you to replace what's working.
No two Grumman panels are identical. That's why the consultation matters — Jeff reviews your specific configuration before you order. Voltage, mounting location, and GPS interface are confirmed upfront so your installer has everything on day one.

What Does a Grumman Autopilot Actually Cost?
The Grumman AA-5 family has fewer autopilot options than Cessna or Piper — and the cost difference between them is significant.
All four AA-5 family models share a single STC and a single installation kit. Select your model to view pricing and order.
AA-5 Traveler
The original Grumman four-seater. FAA-certified autopilot upgrade — altitude hold, GPS tracking, and coupled approach capability — without overhauling the panel.
AA-5A Cheetah
The Cheetah's responsive handling pairs well with Trio's precise GPS tracking. FAA-certified for the AA-5A — flies coupled GPS approaches with vertical guidance when paired with a WAAS navigator.
AA-5B Tiger
The Tiger's 180 hp and slippery airframe make it a natural IFR platform. This is Jeff's aircraft — N1595R flies IFR approaches with this exact Trio Pro Pilot installation. The advice you get comes from someone who has flown it.
AG-5B Tiger
The final production Tiger, built by American General Aviation. Same STC coverage as the AA-5B, same complete installation kit, same capability. FAA-approved and ready to install.
EFIS & GPS Compatibility
The Trio Pro Pilot integrates with the most common EFIS and GPS systems found in Grumman panels. Confirm your stack with Jeff before ordering.

Complete Installation Kit
Factory-built wiring harness. Aircraft-specific hardware. Typical shop time 40–45 hours. Your installer installs — not fabricates.

Flies full coupled GPS approaches including LPV with vertical guidance when paired with a WAAS GPS via ARINC 429. Works with Garmin, Avidyne, Dynon, and uAvionix.
No EFIS Required
Built-in pitch and roll sensors. Fly with steam gauges today. Add uAvionix AV-30C, Aspen, G5, or Dynon SkyView later — Trio integrates with all of them.
